A deckhand’s coming-of-age story of sailing the Great Lakes steamboats during the social and political upheavals of the early 1970s, an intimate portrait of life aboard the giant ore boats. Kit Trouble is the sequel to my first children’s book called Woodaline the beaver. It is a story about the baby beavers, Aspen and Willow, born from Woodaline and the mischief they get into outside. Did you know King Arthur had many other children besides Mordred? Depending on which version of the legend you read, he had both sons and daughters, some of whom even survived him. Today, Charles Kawbawgam, “The Last Chief of the Chippewa,” is a legend in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula for allegedly living to age 103 (1799-1902). But few know anything else about him beyond his being buried in Marquette’s beautiful Presque Isle Park. A multi-generational novel about Marquette, its history and people. True stories from the author’s fishing experiences with colorful anecdotes. Latest humorous hunting and fishing book from Bob Hruska. The story of how a Canadian-born dentist and Houghton entrepreneur changed hockey by openly paying players to come to Michigan’s Copper Country to play hockey. A wry and irreverent collection of stories, “Hitchhiking After Dark” offers a comical and sometimes ludicrous look at growing up and working in small towns. Tyler needs a wife to fix his reputation. Lucy needs an answer to her problem. Are they one and the same? This series of short stories feature thrice-removed cousins, Tami & Evi Maki, who often contemplate how their lives would be vastly different (certainly better), if only they did not bear the burden of their marriages to Toivo and Eino. Shay has to decide what she truly wants in life. Chase must fight for his family, and find a way to make things right. Founded as a harbor town to ship iron ore from the nearby mines, Marquette became known as the Queen City of the North for its thriving industries, beautiful buildings, and being the largest city in Upper Michigan. But is Marquette also the Queen of Lake Superior’s Haunted Cities? Hamsters After Dark was inspired by true events. We did indeed have six baby hamsters that kept escaping their cage. Book 7 of Great Michigan Deer Tales continues the tradition started in 1994 with Book 1 in the series of providing detailed information about how, where, when and by whom the state’s biggest bucks were bagged. Another collection of short stories about how, where, when and by whom the state’s biggest bucks were bagged, including the highest scoring nontypical. 28 more monster buck tales from every region of the state taken by men & women with gun, bow & muzzleloader. Read about brothers who shot the same trophy buck, a world record antlered doe & much more. Proof that Michigan produces whitetail bucks with some of the biggest antlers in N. America. Stories about how, where & when some of Michigan’s biggest bucks were bagged, including in depth coverage of North America’s highest scoring typical. Great family hunts & a remarkable buck. Stories about huge bucks bagged since Book 1, including the current state record typical, record bucks bagged by women, Halloween bucks and those with locked antlers. First in a series of popular books about the biggest bucks bagged by Michigan hunters that are entertaining as well as educational. Lessons can be learned that can be applied to anyone’s hunting. Carey McIlwain resigns her teaching job to take up the reigns of the family florist business, unaware of the challenges that await her. Not a “happy” read, but an important one, this book brings all these things to light and offers some solutions for improving the child protective agencies. Elementary school field trips are a little like herding cats. Enjoy Wyatt and his imagination as you learn a thing or two about alpacas.
