Attention All U.P. Authors,
As you may recall, Finlandia University is doing a spring multi-faceted event called “Writers of the Northern Persuasion,” which includes several featured author presentations and an all-author forum. (Full schedule of events coming soon!)
In addition, the Maki Library, which is Finlandia’s university library, will be doing an extensive display of regional authors’ books to enhance the theme. While our library has many local author works already, it would be great to have an even larger display, which will be available to our students and the general public. We will promote this and encourage people to check out books and become more familiar with the many talented authors of the region.
We are asking authors to consider donating one or two books (different titles) to the Maki Library in support of this companion event. This would very beneficial if you plan to attend the all-author event on April 9th, as students and the general public will be invited to this as well.
Any genre is cheerfully appreciated! If you would like to find out if we have any of your books already in our library, you can either check out the library website (webvoyage) or contact Assistant Librarian, Erica Rouser firstname.lastname@example.org 906-487-7502
If you would like to make a donation, please either drop off or mail your donation to:
Maki Library—Attn: Erica Rouser
601 Quincy Street
Hancock, MI 49930
Please enclose a note: “Writers of the Northern Persuasion donation.” Also, if you would like a letter of acknowledgment or receipt, please let us know. We would appreciate having your donation(s) by January 15th, though we will obviously accept donations at any time.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact Erica at contact info above or Terri Martin (906) 487-7512 email@example.com
Authors do not need to be members of the UPPAA to participate in this—so please spread the word.
