call for submissions – an anthology for ArtPrize 2013

Spread the love

Artprize 2013

I’m involved in a project that I’m really excited about. My writing group, Cascade Writers Group (CWG), is publishing an anthology of literary works called “Imagine This!” for ArtPrize. The anthology will be published by Schuler Books and Chapbook Press, and will be available at ArtPrize venues and other stores in the area. It will feature poems, short stories and personal essays—and prizes will be awarded.
This is an exciting opportunity to add writing to the art forms that ArtPrize celebrates. ArtPrize is an annual festival in Grand Rapids, MI that celebrates art and was recently named one of  “Five Festival Events You Won’t Want to Miss in 2013″ on Time’s worldwide list. We plan on making this an annual event, so I’m sending you two ways you can participate. This is a chance for you to be a part of something really fantastic.
Please pass this along to other contacts or colleagues you have who might want to get involved, and choose for yourself if there is something you’d like to do.
  1. Submit a poem, story or personal essay. The mission of our anthology is to give writers a venue for sharing their work. The anthology will include the 20 top submissions. We’re offering a 1st place prize of $1000.00 (2nd place is $500 and 3rd is $250). We welcome a variety of writers and styles of writing and are really excited to see what we’ll get. You can see the submissions requirements and get the form from our website
  2. Volunteer to be a reader.Let me know if you might be interested in judging some of our submissions. We need writers, teachers, and lovers of literature to help us select the works to be published. CWG will supply the criteria and instructions. You’ll need to commit about 6-8 hours for the first round of reading and about 4-6 hours for the second round of reading.

This is a new and evolving project, and we’d really love your support.
