Explore the Issues That Matter Most to Authors Today

Dr. C. Daniel Miller: Copyright in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (Sept. 18)
As artificial intelligence redefines creative expression, authors and publishers must grapple with new legal and ethical questions. Dr. C. Daniel Miller, copyright consultant and co-owner of Integrated Writer Services, offers insight into how authorship and intellectual property are changing in the AI era. This seminar will explore real-world case studies, legal developments, and practical strategies for safeguarding your rights in a digital-first publishing world.
Dr. Miller, former president of the Colorado Independent Publishers Association, is currently updating his award-winning book Copyright Clearance for Creatives, which now includes an in-depth look at AI-related copyright challenges. His talk is essential for writers seeking clarity in an increasingly complex legal landscape.

David Wogahn: Creating a Book Launch Timeline (Oct. 14)
Too many authors treat book marketing as an afterthought—but according to David Wogahn, it should be baked in from the start. In this session, Wogahn shares his proven Countdown to Book Launch® Timeline, designed to maximize visibility and sales during a book’s critical launch window.
With more than 400 books published through his company, AuthorImprints, Wogahn breaks down when and how to reach out to influencers, manage pre-orders through Amazon KDP and IngramSpark, and conduct comparative market research to improve positioning. Attendees will leave with a ready-to-use launch template that can be adapted to any genre or publishing goal.
Wogahn, author of six books and an early instructor for LinkedIn Learning’s self-publishing course, brings 14 years of hands-on industry experience to the table.

Penny Sansevieri: Market Your Book Without Social Media (Nov. 3)
Think social media is your only marketing lifeline? Think again. In this energetic session, Penny Sansevieri of Author Marketing Experts shows writers how to promote their work outside the social media bubble.
Sansevieri addresses growing trends among authors who are ditching social platforms in favor of more authentic, sustainable methods of audience building. She’ll cover topics such as how to turn your website into a powerful hub, pitch media outlets without a social presence, and build local and online influence using creative, nontraditional methods.
Named one of New York Metropolitan Magazine’s Top Influencers of 2019, Sansevieri is a veteran strategist known for launching books onto Amazon and national bestseller lists. She is the author of 24 books and has revolutionized author marketing for thousands of clients worldwide.
