The second annual Superior Children’s Book Festival will be held in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, on Saturday, November 2nd, 2013. The events will take place in the Walker J. Cisler Conference Center on the campus of Lake Superior State University, from 11am to 3pm.
Several authors from the Upper Peninsula Publishers and Authors Association (UPPAA) will be on hand exhibiting and signing their books for readers including
- Carrie Pearson: author of A Warm Winter Tale
- Gretchen Preston: author of the Valley Cat’s series
- Milly Balzarini: author of A Day With Stanley
- and more!
Throughout the day, The Lake Superior West room will have Activity and Author Tables and a “Rocking Chair Corner,” where parents and children can relax, read together, and even take home some free books.
In the Superior East room, various events will occur, such as a Picture Book Party, and presentations by Michigan authors Johnathan Rand and Nancy Shaw.
Adults and teens are also welcome to join us in the Alumni Room, where we will have a seminar on “How to Break Into Children’s Publishing,” an Open Mike for those who would like to share poetry, and an “Intro to Steampunk” presentation.
